Luxuary Train Tours
There are several independently run luxury trains that operate throughout India, inspired by the trains once used by India’s royal families. Perhaps the best known is the Palace on Wheels, which covers all of Rajasthan’s key attractions. However in recent years new trains have emerged which offer greater comfort and new routes.
The routes do vary and can change year on year. However, there are several options for journeys between Mumbai and Delhi covering classic North Indian attractions, and South India, the Deccan and Karnataka can be explored by luxury train departing from Mumbai. There are some limitations of travelling by train, for instance the fact that excursions from the train are often in groups and there is limited opportunity to tailor your experience. They do, however enable you to cover huge distances without unpacking every day. In general , these voyages last seven nights and in our experience offer a luxurious insight into India with the grandeur of an epic journey.
